Unlike the dense pure PU elastic layer of standard full PU tracks, this microcellular structure acts like thousands of tiny built‑in air cushions within the material – absorbing impact on foot strike while immediately returning energy for the next stride. This results in superior shock absorption, lighter material weight, and a noticeably softer, more comfortable running feel, often described as a "cushioned running shoe" sensation for the entire track.

The system consists of three layers: a microfoam elastic base layer (formed by two‑component polyurethane with controlled foaming agents), a bonding/smoothing coat, and a top wearing course of virgin EPDM granules sprayed over pure PU slurry (or a self‑textured PU surface). The elastic layer contains no rubber granules – it is pure polyurethane with a controlled cellular foam structure. The top layer uses only virgin EPDM granules; the rubber content (typically 15‑20%, premium up to 25‑30%) directly determines the granule's durability, color stability, and UV resistance – higher content yields better performance.
