The Foamed Full PU Running Track is a premium sports surfacing system that represents an upgraded version of the standard full PU track. Its key innovation lies in the elastic layer, which is produced using micro‑foaming technology to create a uniform micro‑airbag (micro‑cellular) structure. Unlike the dense pure PU elastic layer of standard full PU tracks, this microcellular structure acts like thousands of tiny built‑in air cushions within the material – absorbing impact on foot strike while immediately returning energy for the next stride. This results in superior shock absorption, lighter material weight, and a noticeably softer, more comfortable running feel, often described as a "cushioned running shoe" sensation for the entire track.
The system consists of three layers: a microfoam elastic base layer (formed by two‑component polyurethane with controlled foaming agents), a bonding/smoothing coat, and a top wearing course of virgin EPDM granules sprayed over pure PU slurry (or a self‑textured PU surface). The elastic layer contains no rubber granules – it is pure polyurethane with a controlled cellular foam structure. The top layer uses only virgin EPDM granules; the rubber content (typically 15‑20%, premium up to 25‑30%) directly determines the granule's durability, color stability, and UV resistance – higher content yields better performance.
