The Hard Acrylic Sports Surface is a water‑based, high‑performance coating system designed for outdoor and indoor sports courts. Unlike solvent‑based systems, hard acrylic is breathable, non‑toxic, and dries quickly. It consists of multiple layers: an acrylic primer (resurfacer), one or more acrylic mid coats, color top coats, a textured finish for slip resistance, and an optional clear coat.

Hard acrylic is a non‑cushioned surface – it is applied directly over asphalt or concrete. It provides a consistent ball bounce (ITF Category 2 or 3 – medium to medium‑fast pace), excellent traction, and long‑term durability with minimal maintenance. The system is fully porous, allowing water to drain through or evaporate quickly. Total system thickness can be built up to 1.5 mm by applying additional mid and top coats.

Q4: Is the surface slippery when wet?→ Our standard system includes a texture coat with silica sand for slip resistance (≥0.6 wet). Sand content can be adjusted for more or less grip.

Q5: Can I achieve more than 0.8 mm thickness?→ Yes. By applying additional mid coats and top coats, you can build total thickness up to 1.5 mm. This is recommended for high‑traffic courts or where extra durability is needed.

Q6: Can I apply it myself?→ Professional applicators are recommended for best results. For small areas, experienced DIYers can apply with proper preparation and tools. We provide detailed instructions and video.

Q7: Does it fade in sunlight?→ Our premium acrylics contain UV stabilizers. Colors retain 80‑90% of original intensity for 5‑8 years. Standard grade fades slightly faster.

Q8: How do I clean and maintain?→ Regular sweeping and occasional gentle pressure washing. Re‑apply a new top coat every 5‑8 years. For line markings, repaint as needed.
